MUDA, a figurative youngster in the culinary scene, has recently opened a restaurant in the heart of Batu Bolong, Canggu, bringing a fresh twist to Asian-inspired cuisine.

The establishment, known for its modern and vibrant atmosphere, is the brainchild of Chef Robby Tan, who has previously showcased his culinary skills in renowned establishments like Kilo Jakarta, Bikini, Aperitif, and La Tabla.

The menu at MUDA is a fusion of East and Southeast Asian flavors, with an emphasis on using locally sourced Balinese produce. Dishes draw influence from various regions including Japan, China, Korea, Thailand, and Vietnam, offering a diverse range from street snacks to main courses prepared on the Asian grill.

MUDA’s “feed me” menu stands out as a curated dining experience, presenting guests with a 6 or 7-course meal that combines bold and unexpected flavors from the menu. Signature dishes include cured red snapper sashimi with nam jim, kaffir, and coconut gel, as well as coffee-rubbed Black Angus picanha, tare jus, gochujang, and fresh kimchi.

The beverage selection at MUDA complements the culinary journey, featuring a cocktail menu inspired by Japanese and Western flavors, with a nod to local Balinese spirits and liqueurs. The venue’s centerpiece is the cocktail bar, characterized by a backlit onyx bottle display and green marble top.

Designed by Studio Isla, the venue itself features warm and earthy tones, with marbles, leather, and Asian motif textiles. With a seating capacity of 100, MUDA is conveniently located on Jl. Munduk in Canggu, approximately 600m from Batu Bolong beach.

MUDA welcomes diners to experience a diverse range of Asian-inspired flavors, open for dinner daily from 5pm.
