At last our Italian love has come along! Jamie Oliver. Italian. Kuta.

COCONUTS HOT SPOT — After months of knowing that English celebrity chef Jamie Oliver would be bringing his Italian to Bali in 2015, we can now finally gorge ourselves silly.

How about some octopus & mussel spaghetti for lunch? The homemade squid ink pasta is with fresh local seafood, garlic, chilli, capers and white wine.

Normally we’re not inclined to include a big commercial chain restaurant as a hot spot, but for Oliver, we’ll make an exception.

We’ve been anxiously driving past the cute little setup leading to Kuta Beach, seeing the chalkboard sign outside teasing us with the words “Coming Soon!”

We’re in full swing folks, exciting times!! #jamiesitalianbali #nowopen

Now the chalkboard has a new message!

As of just June 1, Jamie’s has opened its doors to the public, adding Bali to Oliver’s Italian empire in more than 40 countries around the world.

Don’t be too quick to write off Oliver’s spot as just another big pasta factory. It is most certainly not the Italian version of McDonald’s.

Jamie’s Italian boasts that all pastas are made fresh daily on site (none of that out of the box crap) and the business also always tries to make the most of local ingredients for each of its locales, working with local suppliers and producers.

The pasta is made fresh everyday at the restaurant. Here’s the truffle tagliatelle!

Oliver himself said in best in a press release: “Beautiful food and some really amazing cocktails coupled with sun, sand and sea – what’s not to love?”
