It’s been a fun, food-filled year for Coconuts Bali

As we get ready to say “selamat jalan” to 2018, we want to bring you through some of our favorites from the Food & Drink section, shared here in chronological order.

You may notice that we started out the year pretty healthy, and got a bit more indulgent for the second half of 2018. What with the launch of our Coco Food and Coco Travel verticals this year, we definitely got busy stuffing our faces and drinking all the booze from Q2 onwards … You know, in the name of research.

Without further ado, let’s look back to:

That time we ate our way through all the island’s “health food” in search of the best healthy eats:

That time we learned the love story of couple who dropped it all to make real, damned good cheese in Bali:

That time we tried a meal plan diet custom-designed for us and our needs, by a professional nutritionist:

That time we burned a hole in our stomachs with stacks and stacks of sambal varieties, all outta love for spice:

That time we shadowed one of Bali’s hottest bartenders for a night out on the town:

That time we ate roasted duck in the rice fields at one of the kitschiest places ever but loved (nearly) every minute of it:

That time we consumed our monthly allotment of caffeine in one night, during a multi-course dinner of quirkily creative dishes centered around coffee:

That time we fell in love all over again with *homemade* pastrami in Batu Bolong:

That time we investigated whether Gatsby himself would approve of a Prohibition-era-themed fine dining restaurant:
