There’s just something mantap about starting your day with eating breakfast overlooking a kick-ass view. Especially when you are looking for some R&R time and you want some place where you can relax and take your time to eat your most important meal of the day.
Whether you’re sipping coffee and digging into your nasi goreng overlooking the seaview that Bali is so famous for, surrounded by luscious green rice paddies, or at the foot of a majestic volcanic mountain, these nine restaurants allow you to start your day while you marvel at breathtaking landscapes that make up our beloved Island of the Gods.
Don’t forget to bring your cameras and inspiration notebooks in case your breakfast experience causes some sort of life-changing epiphany. You’ll be glad you did.
1. Overlooking river valleys and rice terraces at La View Restaurant, Kupu Kupu Barong Resort, Ubud
Do you want to sit in an outdoor terrace with the enchanting Ayung River Valley as your backdrop?
Dining here definitely ain’t cheap, but for the opportunity to have a private brekkie experience with a special someone in a giant bird nest or “floating” above a little pond with views that you definitely won’t need your Instagram filter for, we think that you will definitely get your money’s worth.

How can you not want to start your day looking at THIS?

2. At the foot of a volcano at Madu Sari Mountain Restaurant
Located at the edge of a volcanic caldera of regal Mount Batur, we can guarantee that eating at the Madu Sari Mountain restaurant will give you the “the world is so much bigger than me” feeling (in a good way).
A word of warning though, if climbing a volcano has not been on your list of things to do in Bali, eating here might tempt you to do just that.
3. Surrounded by luscious green valleys at Cascades Restaurant
If your idea of a spectacular view is luscious tropical greeneries located in the heart of Bali’s rice country, pay Cascades Restaurant (located at the Viceroy) a visit.
As a bonus, the restaurant is located at the highest point of the resort. If you end up nabbing a table that overlooks the valley, you’ll definitely want to stay long after you demolish your pastry basket or your coconut rice pudding.
Looking for somewhere trendy where you can enjoy a leisurely breakfast on the beach?
Look no further than La Lucciola, perched right on one of the prettiest stretches of Seminyak beach, decorated with plush green lawns in between. Definitely a nice little spot to sip on your cappuccino, people-watch and enjoy the seaside breeze.

Early morning breakfast never looked so good
5. A quieter spot at Lezat Beach Restaurant, Ashyana Candidasa Resort, Candidasa
If you want seaview minus the Instagram-obsessed crowd (or just crowd in general), head over to Candidasa to experience the quieter gems of Bali.
Lezat Beach Restaurant’s laissez-faire, informal vibe renders brunch outfit planning unnecessary. Enjoy a traditional indonesian breakfast of bubur ayam or munch on a traditional American breakfast of bacon and eggs with toast, tea/coffee and fresh fruit juice/salad while you soak up the sights of waves washing against white sands as well as multi-colored boats belonging to Bali’s local fishermen.
You can even order champagne and caviar with your breakfast if you are feeling a little indulgent.
7. Overlooking Lake Batur at Lakeview eco-lodge restaurant, Kintamani
Lakeview eco-lodge lookout restaurant is another option where you can start your day feeling like you’re on top of the world, while at the same time marvelling at some of the wonders that nature has created.
Like the Madu Sari Mountain restaurant, spending a morning here will probably make you want to go volcano climbing (just watch the video below, if you don’t think that’s some serious natural beauty…you might want to get your eyes checked).
8. Amongst coconut trees, rice paddies and overlooking a river at Ayung Terrace, Four Seasons Sayan
Given people’s perception of Bali as beach and a seaside-paradise, it’s amazing how many beautiful spots are surrounded by luscious greens.
Ayung Terrace is another one of those booootiful spots. The food options aren’t bad either, with continental and standard western options, Indonesian classics such as Ketoprak and Siomay, and even a Japanese option that consist of soy grilled salmon, miso soup, rolled omelette, eggplant, fried tofu, vegetable and steamed rice.

9. A quiet clifftop seaside luxury at Amankila restaurant, Manggis
Seaside luxury, a three-tiered infinity pool, and an endless view of blue.
Doesn’t sound like a bad view to start your day with right?
It can be quite difficult in Bali to find a peaceful cliff-top enclave that’s not bustling with so many tourists but at the same time allows you to indulge in your holiday’s luxuries. Well at Amankila you can do just that.
