1. UBUD: Food Festival
Ubud is going to be buzzing this weekend with the second annual Ubud Food Festival underway. We love how the focus of this year’s festival is all about going local. It’ll be showcasing the best of Indonesia’s and specifically Bali’s locally found ingredients, restaurants, and culinary tradition. From high-energy live cooking, demos, and competitions to markets and street fare to fine dining experiences created by award-winning chefs (we’re talking Michelin-star-level chefs) to talks about the archipelago’s food heritage, it’s going to be a pretty ‘stuffed’ weekend. Ticket info here.
When: May 27-29
Where: Various Ubud venues
Festival HQ, Taman Kuliner on Jl. Raya Sanggingan (opposite Glove Stove Restaurant)
2. SANUR: Get inspired by some TED Talks
We love watching TED Talks and we’re thrilled that TEDxUbud has formed to present those trademarked inspirational short talks in Bali. The event’s already sold-out and was limited to just 300 seats, but co-working space Rumah Sanur will have a livestream going so you can still get those talks in, but in a more casual atmosphere.
When: Saturday, May 28
Where: Live streaming from Rumah Sanur
3. KEROBOKAN: Flower Power throwback
Get your groove on this Friday at Republik 45’s Flower Power 70s Bohemain Party. Entry is free and you better come dressed to impress in some hippie, Bohemian style. Hits from the 60s and 70s will be playing with dinner from 7-9 pm and then the party will pick up hard starting at 9pm until late with some funk, rock, deep house, and disco. Make love, not war!
When: Friday, May 27
Where: Republik 45, Jl. Raya Kerobokan
4. SEMINYAK: Kick off Hacienda’s ‘Cartel Nights’
A fun new regular event is getting started in Petitenget, adding to the South Bali party night rotation: Hacienda Mexican Bar & Grill’s Cartel Night. Come welcome the new kids on the block with tunes laid out by DJ Shammui.
