A bunch of illegal dealings were going on in the brazenly named Illigals nightclub in West Jakarta on Wednesday night (well, probably most nights), resulting in a pretty high profile drug-related arrest.
BNNP DKI Jakarta (National Narcotics Agency Jakarta) nabbed Sean Azad, son of veteran actress Ayu Azhari (perhaps best known for appearing in several Hollywood B-movies in the ‘80s), as well as two alleged dealers, identified as DI and NR.
From DI and NR, BNNP confiscated a pretty large score: 1,000 ecstasy pills, 470 Happy 5 pills, around 500 half-gram packets of meth, and two bongs, as per Detik.
It’s not yet known what charges the alleged dealers might face, though drug trafficking is punishable by the death penalty in Indonesia.
The police also made Sean take a urine test, which showed that he consumed meth at the club. He was eventually returned to his parents but will have to attend eight drug rehabilitation sessions.
“The rehab [for Sean] is counseling. Medication is only for heavy drug users, whereas he was just an occasional user,” said BNPP DKI Jakarta head Johny Latupeirissa, as quoted by Detik.
