A street busker named Anggi from Tangerang was killed by an angry mob early this morning.
It all began when Anggi’s friend was busking while drunk at Festival Cisadane in Tangerang, last Sunday.
“He was arrested by locals and his guitar was confiscated because his busking was annoying,” said local man Angga, as quoted by Okezone today.
Last night, the busker brought 13 of his friends, including Anggi, back to Festival Cisadane to search for his confiscated guitar. But locals quickly grew suspicious of the 14 buskers snooping around.
“The 14 buskers intimidated locals and a fight ensued. They were chased away but 9 of them were trapped in a futsal field, whereas the rest escaped,” Angga said.
The 9 buskers were at the receiving end of a brutal beating by the enraged locals. One of them, Anggi, died on the spot.
Anggi’s body was taken to the Tangerang Regency Hospital. The other 8 buskers, who were all injured, were taken to the Karawaci Police Department.
