Smart, funny, and up-to-date, Coconuts Yangon will keep you in the know 24 hours a day, 7 days a week (okay not literally, we have working hours, and weekends off). As a city that’s seen an insane amount of growth in just the last few years, life in Yangon is never not exciting, to the point where it’s all a bit overwhelming at times. But don’t fret! We at Coconuts Yangon aim to deliver you everything from the latest restaurant buzz to viral Facebook posts to political happenings in detailed yet still bite-sized chunks. That being said, if you’re the kind of reader that prefers long reads, then (again) don’t fret — we also enjoy publishing longer interviews and personal essays on and by individuals that are doing something exciting, heartwarming, and/or just plain ol’ cool. But we’re not just about the words — in addition to our daily posts, we also enjoy dabbling in photo essays and videos that highlight different facets of life in Yangon that absolutely need to be shown, not told. (Psst, speaking of aspects of Yangon that need to be shown, feel free to follow us over on Instagram at coconutsyangon.) We also like to travel, so while most of our coverage pertains to Yangon, news from and on the rest of the country isn’t completely off-limits either. But at the end of the day though, Yangon is home, and it’s nice to know what’s going on at home. Hi, it’s great to meet you, we’re Coconuts Yangon.
