We may need to hire an extra reporter to cover the “happy hour” beat as so many of these things seem to be springing up in Yangon of late.
Most recently we have Rangoon Tea House’s beer deal.
This is separate from RTH’s separate cocktail and other drinks happy hour, which goes from 4-7 Monday through Friday.
In this addition, it’s all about the hops.
From 4pm to 6pm Monday through Friday, there will be free flow Myanmar Premium (that’s Myanmar Beer’s attempt at a “craft” brew) for 7,500 kyats (or about $5) and 10,000 kyats (about $8) for free flow Kirin.
Japan’s Kirin is Myanmar Brewery’s new partner, which is the reason you’ve seen Kirin taps popping up all over town.
There was some confusion last week as the price of the happy hour was 5,000 kyats for free flow, but it was a promotional period, according to restaurant’s Facebook page.
