Carlsberg Myanmar has expanded distribution operations to Myanmar’s second largest city.
It has finalized a deal to sell Yoma – its made for Myanmar brew – and Tuborg in Mandalay, the company said in a statement.
That’s good. We welcome more options for quenching your thirst (responsibly!) after climbing the city’s famous hill or exploring the grounds of the old Royal Palace.
Myanmar Carlsberg signed the distribution deal on August 14 in Mandalay. The brands will also be available in Monywa.
The beer market is expanding. Both Heineken and Carlsberg have opened breweries, and just yesterday, Japan’s Kirin confirmed the purchase of a majority stake in the operation that cooks up Myanmar Beer.
Heineken will also be producing a local brew with the name Regal Seven.
Actual pints of Carlsberg and Heineken are in the offing but it’s not clear when they will be widely distributed.
