Yangon murder suspect caught literally red-handed after alleged killing: police

Yangon police reportedly caught a murder suspect literally red-handed at Yangon General Hospital after he went to seek treatment for a wound to his hand.

Paing Min Set, 20, is accused of killing Aung Thu with a steel knife after they argued at his apartment on October 5, according to the Global New Light of Myanmar.

He then allegedly fled with two stolen mobile phones, a laptop and the victim’s car, which was later found abandoned on the corner of 43rd Street and Strand Road in Botataung township.

The condition of the car led police to suspect that the suspect was wounded, and when they went to check the local hospitals they reportedly found Paing Min Set undergoing surgery on his hand.

The investigation continues.
