WATCH: Babies of Yangon celebrate Independence Day

Whether you’re Hindu, Muslim or Buddhist, Independence Day in Yangon is all about the babies. A short video produced by Third Floor Film shows children from various communities in the city enjoying January 4 with laughter and levity.

“We produced this video to share the joyful moments of different communities in Yangon celebrating Myanmar’s Independence Day,” said Thaiddhi, a cinematographer for Third Floor Film, a production company based in Yangon.

The group offers commercial production services, but also puts out its own content in order to offer a unique perspective on life in Myanmar, including this year’s Independence Day video and a documentary about the fishing industry in Rakhine State.

The group is particularly interested in inter-religious harmony and diversity. Its project Unity in Diversity includes six short films that celebrate diversity in Myanmar, including one about a happy interfaith marriage in Dala Township.

All of these films are smile-inducing. Check out the video above for a quick reminder of how peaceful and loving our city can be.
