We thought it was cool when Facebook launched their Myanmar stickers with anti-hate speech campaign Panzagar earlier this year.
But Viber just seriously upped their game in the battle for the hearts and thumbs of Myanmar’s social network users with a set of shareable stickers designed for Thingyan water festival, which starts Monday.
Users in the country got a message earlier this week inviting them to download the sticker sets, which are free and include 20 images drawn in Japanese Manga style.
The characters, who are splashing each other in some of the stickers, include a purple-haired lady with a longyi and thanaka on her cheeks and a watergun-toting cat. There’s even some Padauk flowers, which come into bloom around Thingyan each year.
Viber is the leading instant messaging service in Myanmar with more than five million users.
