Unbearably hot weather set to continue, says forecaster

This sticky, sweltering weather isn’t going away anytime soon, according to the country’s foremost weather expert.

Those of us in Yangon, where the maximum temperature expected is a measly 40 degrees, should spare a thought for central Myanmar, though.

In Magwe Region, the mercury could hit 44 degrees, according to Dr Tun Lwin, an independent forecaster and the former director of the Department of Meterology.

“There is a drought in Vietnam,” he told 7 Days. “And the temperature is continuing to increase here.”

Thanks for letting us know, Dr. Can you make it go away now?
