When authorities tell you to stay indoors while a cyclone is headed your way, they really do mean stay indoors while a cyclone is headed your way.

However, two young men thought that it was safe enough to go out on a motorcycle on Sunday afternoon while it was raining, and were struck by lightning.

The Ayeyarwaddy Regional Rescue Services Department told 7Day that the accident took place on the road between Pathein and Mawtin, near Kan Ni village. The lightning killed the 17-year-old passenger in the back. The driver survived and is still currently hospitalized, although he has been paralyzed from the waist down.

Cyclone Mora made landfall when it hit Bangladesh early this morning, with most of the damage taking place in Rakhine State.

Stay inside, kids (really, stay inside!).
