Two missing as further flooding devastates Chin State: Information Minister

Two people are missing in Chin State after torrential rain overnight caused a lake to burst its banks, according to Myanmar’s Information Minister.

More than 50 homes in Tun Zan Township have been damaged by the flood waters, though the local dam (pictured) is intact, Ye Htut posted on Facebook.

The local government is working on emergency relief, he said.

Chin State has been devastated by severe flooding and landslides that have affected more than 1 million people across Myanmar in recent weeks.

This is a breaking story and will be updated as details emerge.
