Two men nabbed for stealing winning lottery ticket, trying to claim prize

Here’s one – pretty stupid – way to be a sore loser.

Two men have been arrested in Mohnyin township after allegedly stealing a lucky lottery ticket worth K50 million and swapping it for their own worthless one.

Tun Tun and Aung Paing were arrested on Friday after police accused them of sneaking into Daw Khin Hnaung’s home after hearing the woman had the winning ticket.

She reported the theft to police, who were able to track down the suspects, according to the Global New Light.

The pair, who have been charged with fraud, had allegedly attempted to claim the prize.

Lesson learned: if you win the lottery, don’t wait around.
