Two dead after bus full of schoolchildren crashes on Yangon-Mandalay highway

A bus carrying dozens of schoolchildren making a pilgrimage from Yangon to Mandalay overturned at high speed on the highway on Saturday afternoon, killing one retired teacher and the driver.

At least 29 others were injured in the crash, four seriously, highway police told the Global New Light of Myanmar.

The bus was headed to the Jade Pagoda in Mandalay Region when it crashed at around 12:45pm. The injured were taken to a hospital in Naypyitaw.
