Enlightenment’s never been easy to attain, so maybe Twitter co-founder and CEO Jack Dorsey was just looking for a leg up — way up — when he took to a hot air balloon for a meditation session 3,000 feet above Myanmar on Saturday.
Dorsey’s spiritual high (sorry not sorry), which appropriately enough came to light via a Twitter post, took place during sunset over the temples of Bagan as he wrapped up a recent journey in Myanmar.
Golden Eagle Ballooning, the company that organized Dorsey’s trip, told Coconuts Yangon that the airborne meditation session was in line with the trip’s focus.
“They were meditating in Mandalay; I heard for 10 days. I don’t know for sure what kind of meditation and how long,” Golden Eagle GM Ko Kaung Sett Kyaw said. “Before he went back abroad, he came to Bagan for 3 to 4 hours for a quick stop. When he said he wanted to go on a hot-air balloon ride, [and] we arranged it for him.
“There was a meditation coach with him. According to the pilot, the coach asked them if they wanted to meditate, with the temples, the sunset, the view. They meditated for about 5 minutes at around 3,000 feet,” he said.
On Twitter, Dorsey can be seen posing in front of a crew prepping a hot-air balloon with three of his friends.

Huge if true. Hot air balloon company in Myanmar says Jack Dorsey has taken part in in what it believes maybe the first inflight meditation session in the "history of hot air ballooning." It looks cold. pic.twitter.com/qBo5r037c8

Saturday’s Bagan balloon adventure came at the tail end of a journey that Dorsey has been documenting via his social media platform. Other Myanmar sites he’s highlighted have included Shwedagon Pagoda, Rangoon Tea House, and a local monastery.
