Deserted palm-fringed shores, turquoise water, spicy seafood and nearly zero touts.
It’s easy to see why Myanmar’s beautiful Ngapali Beach made it into TripAdvisor’s 2016 ranking of the world’s top ten beaches.
Travelers voted for the best ones they had visited and the Rakhine State favorite, an hour’s flight from Yangon, came eighth.
That’s eight places up on last year, when it was ranked 16th.
“Three kilometres of beach without a soul to be seen. No seashells, no rocks, no vendors!” wrote one reviewer.
Turks and Caicos in the Caribbean topped the list, followed by Brazil.
But it’s Ngapali that gets our vote. Here’s a few reasons why.
