Tourists have lucky escape after car catches fire on Valentine’s Day

Six foreign tourists were forced to leap from a blazing car after it caught fire on the way back to Yangon from Pathein on Valentine’s Day.

One Thai woman injured her ankle but the other travelers, from the Philippines, Indonesia, the US and Sri Lanka, escaped unhurt, the Global New Light of Myanmar reported.

The accident was reportedly caused by an overheated car battery.

Police in Kyaunggon Township have filed charges against the 27-year-old driver.
