Thai-Myanmar blockbuster From Bangkok to Mandalay coming to theaters in October

Thai-Myanmar blockbuster From Bangkok to Mandalay will be screened free in local theaters in October, the Voice reports.

The film, a co-production by Thailand’s Magenta Media and Moe Kaung Kin from Myanmar, stars local celebrities Wutt Hmon Shwe Yi and Sai Sai Kham Leng as well as Thai actress Nan Whan. The director, Chartchai Ketknust, is known for indie films in his native Thailand.

“We made [the film] because we wanted Thai fans to know the quality of our actors and actresses,” Suu Wann from Moe Kaung Kin told the Voice. “Our market is small.”

“In Myanmar, this movie will be in the theaters around the last two weeks of October,” he added. “In Thailand, it will be screened one or two weeks after the screening in Myanmar.”
