Taxi driver found stabbed to death inside Yangon cab

A Yangon taxi driver was found stabbed to death inside his own cab in Bahan on Saturday, according to local police.

Win Hlaing, 52, from South Dagon, was discovered slumped in the passenger seat, with wounds to his neck, head and fingers, 7 Day reported.

“He usually comes back home to have lunch at 1pm,” a family member was quoted as saying. “Today he didn’t come or call. We called him at around 2pm but his phone was out of service.”

Deputy officer Zaw Htun from Mayangone township told 7 Day that officers found a small amount of cash by the victim’s body but his mobile phone was missing.
