Aung San Suu Kyi has scrapped plans to visit an internal displacement camp on the Thai-Myanmar border due to bad weather, local media is reporting.
She had planned to visit the Tham Hin camp, in Ratchaburi province, on June 25 as part of her three-day visit to Thailand, but the tour has been cancelled, according to 7 Day.
The camp is home to thousands of Myanmar nationals, mostly ethnic Karens/Kayins, displaced by civil strife.
The Myanmar state counselor is on her first official trip to Thailand, which has a large population of Myanmar migrant workers
Yesterday, thousands turned out to see her in a coastal fishing center, but overcrowding meant that many were turned away.
Today she is scheduled to hold a joint press conference with Thai junta leader Prayuth.
