Suu Kyi and Commander-in-Chief visit military museum

State counselor Aung San Suu Kyi and army chief Min Aung Hlaing were pictured this afternoon visiting the military museum in Naypyitaw.

The country’s two highest officials appeared to smile and joke together in pictures released on Suu Kyi’s Facebook page.

The army chief will come to Yangon for events held next Tuesday to mark Martyrs’ Day, 69 years since the killing of independence leader Aung San, Suu Kyi’s father.

Correction: An earlier version of this post misstated the name of the museum visited by Suu Kyi and the army chief. It is the military museum, not the martyrs museum.
