Suspected drug dealer escapes arrest after villagers attack police

As The Wire tells us, any good drug dealer needs to have the local populace on her side.

Myanmar police found that out the wrong way on Friday when they went to arrest a suspected dealer in Sagaing Region, only to be attacked by villagers wielding long knives.

The suspect, named as Daw Thay from Kyailkuchan Village, escaped during the scuffle, the Global New Light of Myanmar reported.

Police had sought to take her into custody after allegedly finding heroin in her hut.

Three villagers were arrested after the attack.
