Stay away from the ‘delay spray’: Police bust peddlers of fake sex drugs ahead of Valentine’s

Yangon police are cracking down on the sale of unregistered and fake sex drugs ahead of Valentine’s Day on Sunday, the Myanmar Times reported.

Last week, a man who alleged used Facebook to set up sales was caught in a sting – police reportedly pretended to be buyers and busted the dealer at a street corner in Mingalar Taung Nyunt Township.

Another 25-year-old from Lanmadaw Township was also detained. Police seized 5 spray cans of ‘Delay Spray’, 12 boxes of ‘Max Man’, 10 boxes of ‘Plant Viagra’ and 7 bottles of a ‘sex lotion’ named Devseloppe.

They are facing action under Section 18 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Law.

More busts are planned ahead of the weekend, according to Police Major Thein Aung.

Police carried out a similar crackdown during the Thingyan water festival last year, seizing erectile dysfunction drugs but also condoms and contraceptives, in an effort to curb sexual assault.

Health workers slammed the move as deeply misguided.
