Somebody call 911, Sean Kingston is coming to Myanmar

Yangon’s been the place to be for both A- and B-list celebs lately: first there was Forest Whitaker, then Matt Dillon, then Angelina Jolie.

Next up: Sean Kingston. Aka, “shawty fire burnin’ on the dance-floor, whoa-oh”.

The Jamaican rapper will perform at the Yangon Runway Girls Collection, a fashion and music festival at the Myanmar Convention Center, on September 6.

The show’s organizers, Living Sound Entertainment, a Myanmar-based events company, promise “many more international artist’s [sic]” on their Facebook page.

Speaking to Coconuts Yangon, a representative said their identities would be revealed “soon”.

A press release stated tickets would start at 30,000 kyats and go up to 300,000 for a VIP package including a meet-and-greet with the performers.

Kingston confirmed the gig on his official Twitter account.

The rapper is reportedly working on his fourth album, though his profile has fallen somewhat since the heady days of 2007, when ‘Beautiful Girl’ was released.

He hit the headlines in July after appearing to mock a boy with Asperger’s syndrome on his Facebook page. He said the account was run by a third-party.
