Snake tries to eat boy, but fearless mom saves the day

A large Burmese python’s attempt to devour a kid in Kachin State was thwarted by his mother and local residents who intervened by beating the snake to death.
 
Photos of men holding their kill were posted to Facebook on Monday afternoon next to an image of the boy in the hospital with bandages on his hand and leg. The exact date of the incident is unknown.
 
The post has garnered thousands of shares, almost 10,000 “Likes” and a boatload of congratulatory comments, including one labeling the parent “motherhero” for scaring away the snake.
