Small cyclone expected to hit Myanmar coast

Myanmar’s Weather Forecast Department has warned that a low-pressure region in the Bay of Bengal may become a small cyclone.

The low-pressure region has been developing since October 31.

The Weather Forecast Department predicts heavy wind and rain to hit Myanmar’s coastal regions three times within the next 10 days.

Wind speeds may reach 35mph in coastal regions, and rain is expected to fall sporadically in other parts of Myanmar.

Meteorologist Dr Htun Lwin predicted in the last week of October that a small cyclone would develop in the mid-western part of the Bay of Bengal in early November.

A cyclone formed in the Bay of Bengal between October 24 and 29 and caused flooding in coastal areas.
