Sleepy travelers to Myanmar rejoice, there are small hotel rooms inside Thailand’s airports

Coming to Myanmar normally involves a stop in Bangkok. That stop can be long and tiring, especially if you are flying international.

No worries.

The hourly sleepbox service “Boxtel” was launched recently at Suvarnabhumi Airport, about the same time as a similar service opened at Don Mueang.

Located in the basement near the Airport Rail Link, Boxtel offers 12 private sound-proof rooms, 4 sq. m in size. Each room comes with air-conditioning, a small foldable table, free WiFi, and a button to call reception in case of an emergency.

The bathroom, however, is shared with other travelers in the airport, and, sadly, you can’t shower.

Travelers can rent a room for four, six or eight hours. Prices are THB1,160 ($33), THB1,720, and THB2280, respectively. Boxtel also offers a wake-up call service.

One Boxtel room can only accommodate one guest, but a child under 14 years old is permitted to stay with a guardian.
