Singapore mother and daughter charged with killing Myanmar domestic worker

A Singaporean mother and daughter have been charged with killing their domestic worker, a Myanmar woman, at their ninth-floor flat earlier this week.

Responding to a call requesting assistance on Tuesday, police arrived at the aparment in Bishan and found the victim motionless. She was pronounced dead on the scene.

The mother and daughter, named as 36-year-old Gaiyathiri Murugayan and Prema S. Naraynasamy, 58, were arrested on Wednesday.

According to the Straits Times, they showed no emotion as the charge was read to them in court the following day.

They have not yet entered a plea.
