A week after being ousted from party leadership by his own party, lower house speaker Shwe Mann narrowly escaped sinking into further irrelevance today in Naypyidaw.
Lawmakers voted to put off debating a bill that many say could have been used to recall him.
But it was close, and presumably, the debate could continue.
264 lawmakers voted to call it off for now, while 235 voted to go ahead with the debate.
