A man was discovered dead on a bus at the Aung Mingalar Bus Station this morning, making it the second case in less than a week.

The bus left from the town of Myawaddy in Kayin State, and arrived in Yangon at approximately 6 am this morning.

“Once everyone alighted, the bus conductor and driver noticed that he hadn’t gotten off so they went to wake him up. It was just like when it happened the first time [last Friday],” a witness who helped out at the scene told Mizzima.

“His family said that he had been diagnosed with hypertension. There were no external injuries.”

Once the bus employees realized that the man had actually passed away at some point during the journey, police were called to the scene. Authorities were able to identify the man according to his NRC card, and contacted his family.

Last Friday, another man was also found dead on a highway bus that drove from Taunggyi to Yangon. As with this case, no one onboard realized he was dead until they arrived at Aung Mingalar and the man didn’t get up.
