Police uncover pill stash worth $133 million in compound belonging to ruling party tycoon: report

Police uncovered a stash of methamphetamine tablets worth $133 million, reportedly on the property of a major Myanmar congolomerate on Sunday.

More than 26 million pills were found inside a white truck parked in the Yangon compound of the Zaykabar Company, according to The Voice Weekly.

The Zaykabar Company has been behind many major projects, including the Kandawgyi Nature Park and Recreation Zone, the Yangon Industrial Park and the Royal Mingaladon Golf and Country Club.

Its chairman, Shwe Khin, who has faced multiple accusations of landgrabbing, is blacklisted by the US. He is also a Union Solidarity and Development Party lawmaker.

On its Facebook page, the Ministry of Information said the owner of the truck had not been identified.

“We are investigating seriously who has carried this amount of drugs inside Yangon,” an officer from the drug task force told The Voice Weekly
