Police have named a suspect in the brutal attack on a family in Bahan township that left a woman dead and her nine-year-old daughter injured, according to local police.
Ma Khaing Marla was found dead by her neighbor on the first floor of the two-storey house at around 1:30am on Sunday morning, the Global New Light of Myanmar reported.
Yangon police have released pictures of the cousin of the victim’s husband, Aung Zin Bo, in attempt to locate him. He allegedly told the downstairs neighbor, Daw Tin Tin Aye, that there was no problem on the first floor even as the woman lay dead.
Daw Tin Tin Aye told police she heard screaming and went upstairs to discover the child beside her mother’s body. The girl has been taken to Yangon General for treatment.
