Police nab suspect in brutal Bahan township slaying

Police have arrested a man suspected of killing a woman in front of her daughter at their Bahan township home on Sunday

Aung Zin Bo was stopped at a traffic light in Mawlamyine, Mon state, at around 9:30pm yesterday when he was sighted by officers on patrol, the Global New Light of Myanmar reported.

His picture had been circulated on the Yangon Police department’s Facebook page earlier in the day.

Ma Khaing Marla was found dead by her neighbor on the first floor of the two-storey house at around 1:30am on Sunday morning. Her young daughter was injured.

The neighbor told police that Aung Zin Bo, the victim’s cousin-in-law, had told her there was no problem. He is now in custody in Yangon.
