IN PICTURES: Downtown Yangon at night is turning into a Pokémon Go party

It’s nightime near City Hall in downtown Yangon, and the only thing stirring are a bunch of Pokémon Go players.

These photos, shot by AFP’s Ye Aung Thu on Wednesday night, show the extent to which the gaming craze has gripped Myanmar’s biggest city (for the video perspective, see our take here).

The biggest crowds seem to be gathering outside City Hall near the Sule Pagoda.

Did we mention there are a lot of people?

The streets will never be the same again.

But hey, it’s just good-natured fun, and this guy shows that it’s possible to look cool while playing.
