Most guesthouses and hotels currently supply electricity only at certain times, most often from 6pm until 6am. But, from the end of the year, the power will be on around the clock, state-run newspaper the Global New Light of Myanmar reported today.
“Since the cost of electricity per unit will decline from K300 to K75, we will end up cutting costs, allowing us to offer the excellent hotel service,” said Kyaw Khaing, chairman of the Chaung Tha Hotel zone.
Shame it won’t come in time for Thingyan, the water festival set to start April 11.
