The ASEAN Football Federation (AFF) U-18 Championship is set to take place in Myanmar in September, the Myanmar Football Federation (MFF) announced on Tuesday.

The tournament will run from September 4-17. Group A will include Cambodia, Malaysia, Laos, Singapore, Thailand and Timor-Leste, while Brunei, Indonesia, Myanmar, New Zealand, the Philippines and Vietnam will be in Group B.

New Zealand was invited to the tournament by the AFF as this year’s guest.

The Myanmar U-15 team is also expected to take part in the AFF U-15 Championship in Thailand in July.

The AFF Women’s Championship this year was cancelled due the the abundance of other women’s tournaments in 2017. The AFF decided that another women’s tournament at the ASEAN level would lead to an unnecessary use of funds.
