Myanmar is getting a big ass aquarium and it’s going to have sharks

196,000 square feet of space. $15 million spent. 500 species in the tanks.

Oh, and some sharks.

Welcome to the Yangon Aquarium.

After some delay, this two-story monstrosity, designed by Singapore-based urban planning consultancy Surbana International, is set to open sometime next year, Leisure Management magazine reported.

Surbana partnered with the Myanmar Aquarium Company and the Yangon City Development Committee.

After construction officially started in 2014, the opening date was pegged for December of this year.

But it was not to be.

Those sharks must be taking a while.
