Myanmar gets tough on drivers who honk too much

Drivers who honk their horns for too long will be penalized under new rules enforced by traffic police intent on curbing the public menace.

Violators will be banned from the roads for three months and receive a fine, Eleven Media reported.

“Plans to take action against long honkers are underway, as are plans to create more no-horn zones,” Aung Ko Oo, Traffic Police Deputy Superintendent, was quoted as saying.

“There are drivers who honk in such areas when traffic police are not present,” he added.

Naughty boys.

Next, for the sake of public sanity, let’s have a crackdown on betel-nut spitting.
