Myanmar climbers who were the first mountaineers from their country to summit Mount Everest have made it safely down to Kathmandu, the capital of Nepal.
Photos posted on the Facebook page created by the Htoo Foundation, which sponsored the attempt, showed the team of three being congratulated on Monday by the Myanmar ambassador to Nepal.
Pyae Phyo Aung and Win Ko Ko made history on May 19, reaching the top at about 7:17am Nepal time. Judging from their photos at the summit, it was pretty crowded up there.
A third climber, Nyi Nyi Aung, was forced to stay behind after doctors reported problems with his heart.
