Let’s start this story off with a little sage advice: DO NOT THROW STONES AT TRAINS IN YANGON.
Or anywhere in the country, for that matter. Or anywhere in the world.
Okay, now that’s out of the way, let’s explain why you shouldn’t do that.
For starters, it’s a dumb, dangerous idea that could have serious consequences not only for the passengers – who could be hit – but for the thrower, who could be sent to jail for a long time.
Authorities in Myanmar are warning potential offenders that they could see prison terms of 5 to 10 years if caught, according to a Myanma Railways announcement reported in the Global New Light of Myanmar on Wednesday.
The story does not say why the stone-throwing crackdown is happening or what prompted it (presumably stone-throwing?)
According to the report, there were only a few official incidents in Yangon this year.
