More than half of election prep is finished, official says

Organizing for the elections on November 8 is more than 50 percent done, according to Tin Aye, the Union Election Committee Chairman.

“We can say around 50 percent or 60 percent of the preparation has finished. Because we have already sent voting boxes and some other stuff,” he told reporters in a press conference on Wednesday in Yangon.

Tin Aye’s comments were reported in DVB.

Campaigning for the election will start on September 8 and last until November 6, two days before the hotly anticipated poll, the Global New Light of Myanmar reported today.
