Five teenage girls who went missing from their homes in Karen state were yesterday found in Yangon’s Hlaing Tharyar Township and returned to their families.
Zun Poe Phyu, Thinn Wai Pho, Nilar, Thinzar Pyone and Ei Thinzar, all aged about 16 years old, were staying at a private residence near Industrial Zone Two.
They had traveled to the city in search of work, according to police.
“This case is not stealing,” an officer from Hlaing Thayar police station told The Ladies News Journal, referring to recent reports of abducted children.
