The men probably thought their victim would be an easy target: A woman walking alone at night.
Unfortunately for the suspects, their target was a cop.
Police in Sanchaung township told the Voice Weekly that Deputy Officer Daw Moe Thuzar Win was walking home on January 23 when two men came up to her on a motorbike, pushed her down and stole her bag.
The cop remembered the type of motorbike used and the way the men were dressed, making an arrest more likely. The authorities blocked off roads and tracked the deputy officer’s bag through two phones that were still in her bag.
A 19-year-old suspect was arrested, and police are looking for the other man.
