Man accused of mall stabbing handed to police by his brother

A man accused of fleeing the city after stabbing a 20-year-old woman at Yangon’s Taw Win Center on February 19 has been handed over to police by his brother.

Hmat Gyi, also known as Lwan Naing Win, had reportedly traveled to Naypyitaw after the attack.

He was taken to Waibagi Police Station in North Okkalapa Township by Myo Min Htet on Monday, according to the Global New Light of Myanmar.

The victim is undergoing treatment for minor injuries at Yangon General Hospital.
