A BBC Burmese reporter jailed for striking a policeman kissed his pregnant wife on the stomach as he was released early from a prison in Mandalay today.
Nay Myo Lin was sentenced to three months hard labor after being found guilty of “voluntarily causing hurt to deter [a] public servant from his duty.”
The 40-year-old was accused of assaulting Lance Corporal Ba Maw during a protest in solidarity with students in March 2015.
He was released early on appeal, according to BBC correspondent Jonah Fisher.
Photos showed him greeting his family outside the gates.
Judging by his very pregnant wife, he just got out in time.
