Those of us in Yangon woke up to a strange morning for this time of year: dark, chilly and wet.
And it looks like the untimely rainy season interlude could last all week, according to weather expert Tun Lwin.
The forecaster, a former head of the Department of Meterology and Hydrology, posted on his Facebook page that rain is expected for the next five days in Eastern and Central Myanmar as well as the Delta Region.
“Cold winds are coming towards the Indochina peninsula, mixing with warm winds and creating rain clouds,” he wrote.
The expert also posted a chart showing the minimum night temperatures expected across the country through to February 3.

In Yangon, temperatures could dip to 17 degrees while some places, including Lashio in Shan state, are expecting to slip into the single digits.
Might be time to double-wrap those longyis.
